Puslinch Artefacts Unearthed in former School Section #2

Mr. Perry Cockburn

Perry Cockburn, a Puslinch Historical Society member who resides in the former Brock Road school section #2 of Puslinch Township, which was annexed to the city of Guelph, has made a most interesting discovery.   Bulldozers may have brought pieces of the 19th century to the surface on April 19, 2003, as work began on widening what is now Gordon Street at Edinburgh Road.  Perry suspects that the artefacts that he retrieved, including an old ink well and a large keyhole, were part of the pioneer school that was located on this site in the 1850’s.  He’ll ask staff at the Guelph Civic Museum for their opinion.
